Lou Zhenggang

Calligrapher & Painter
Born in 1966 in Heilongjiang Province, China, Lou Zhenggang was recognized by the Chinese government as a prodigy at the age of 12. Hailed as a "miracle" in the Chinese calligraphy and painting world during the 1970s and 1980s, he moved to Japan at the age of 20, and later to the United States at 27, where she built an international artistic career.

Lou Zhenggang was born in Heilongjiang province, China. She studied calligraphy and painting under the guidance of her father from an early age and in the 1970-1980s became a prominent figure, a child prodigy in the Chinese calligraphy and painting world.

Lou has held 27 solo exhibitions and three touring exhibitions across China, Japan, and the U.S.. Her work spans ink painting, calligraphy, and abstract acrylic paintings, often inspired by universal themes such as "Life and Love," "Sun and Moon," "Heart," "Harmony," and "Nature."

In recent years, Lou has developed his "Untitled” series, which expands beyond traditional calligraphy and ink painting into modern abstract art using acrylics on canvas. Her work was showcased in the 2023 Artizon Museum exhibitionand has been featured in prestigious international auctions, including Sotheby’s and Christie’s private sales.

Lou's works are housed in major museums and collections worldwide, including the National Museum of China and LACMA (Los Angeles County Museum of Art). Her collectors include notable figures such as David Rockefeller. She has also collaborated with Lalique, the prestigious French crystal glass maison, on the "Sun & Moon" series, exhibited in Paris, London, Zurich, and New York.
